AmeriTitle is proud to be on the leading edge of RESPA reform and be a resource for our industry partners and consumers through these new regulations.

RESPA (Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act) is a consumer protection statute designed to help homebuyers be better shoppers in the home buying process and is enforced by HUD (Housing and Urban Development).

Effective January 1, 2010, HUD is requiring that loan originators provide borrowers with a standard Good Faith Estimate (GFE) that clearly discloses key loan terms and closing costs. Closing agents will also be required to provide borrowers with a new HUD-1 settlement statement.

With the goal of providing more clarity, transparency and certainty of mortgage costs for consumers, the following new rules, forms and links have been provided:
