About Umatilla County
Umatilla County is located in the state of Oregon. It is included in the 8 county definition of Eastern Oregon. The county is named for the Umatilla River. In 2000, its population was 70,548. The county seat is Pendleton.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 3,231 square miles, of which 3,215 square miles is land and 16 square miles is water.

September - Pendleton Roundup, Pendleton
The Pendleton Roundup is held in the second full week of September. It's billed as
the USA's best rodeo. Established in 1909, the celebration includes an old-fashioned
rodeo, cowboy breakfasts, a parade, a country music concert, dances, art shows,
and a nightly pageant that details the history of Native Americans and pioneers
